South West Airfields Heritage Trust and its Heritage Centres are staffed by unpaid volunteers who perform a wide range of tasks according to their skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are united in our mission to  preserve  aviation history for future generations. We are also dedicated to providing a great visitor experience and aim to be a top historical attraction in Devon and the South West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have an interest in history, enjoy meeting people and would like to help us go forward – then please call us. We are a friendly, informal group that welcomes and engages new volunteers  – and you don’t need experience,  just enthusiasm, a sense of humour and a willingness to get involved. We also have social and fundraising gatherings on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are interested in recruiting people to undertake the following on a part-time basis at least one day a fortnight from Easter to the end of September\/October:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VACANCIES:  1 to 2 days a month  11am – 4pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Visitor and Heritage Centre Reception \/ Guides –\u00a0Upottery & Dunkeswell<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Full training given (lots of tea and coffee tasting to be undertaken)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The roles below do not have \u2018regular\u2019 hours and may be needed only intermittently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Tour Guides<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Promotions \/ Leaflet Distribution<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Corporate Sponsorship<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Event Management<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Fundraising \/ Collecting<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Historical, Project \u00a0& Airfield Research \u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Site Maintenance & Repairs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      If you think you could help us by giving a little of your time we would love  to hear from you and don’t worry about the specific history, or experience<\/strong>, we will soon teach you and you would be paired with an experienced guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      While all our in-house staff are unpaid we do offer the opportunity to learn more about preserving heritage, as well as taking part in visits to other museums and heritage venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      We also get to see vintage aircraft close up such as this spitfire and Catalina !<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
